Securing South West Snooker Academy

 

Company profile

The South West Snooker Academy is a brand new facility dedicated to nurturing snooker talent and hosting large professional snooker tournaments.
It's a brand new 2-storey facility of 20,000sq ft which has 13 professional-grade snooker tables and a 400-seat auditorium.

Business situation

The site is situated on a business park and faces similar security risks to other businesses in the area in that:
The area is isolated out of normal working hours, so can be vulnerable to would-be thieves and vandals.
There's a responsibility for the safety and security of hundreds of people when tournaments are being played.
Following the occupancy of the building, there was a tight 7 week phase to complete fit-out work so that the Academy was ready to hold a major snooker tournament on time.

Solution

Falcon Security Solutions identified the key risks facing the South West Snooker Academy and recommended the following:
Monitored Security Alarm System
Monitored Fire Protection System
CCTV solution for indoor and outdoor safety
Falcon worked in conjunction with all the other major building trades on site to ensure that the fit-out was completed on time.

From the moment visitors arrive at the academy, they're safe in the knowledge that the car park has full CCTV coverage to reduce the risk of vandalism and theft, through to internal CCTV coverage for their own protection. The site is covered by 24x7 monitoring for immediate police and fire response.

Cotswold Consultancy

The brief was to install a burglar alarm system into the premises of Cotswold Consultancy.

 

The reality was a little different and required a number of factors to be taken into account:

1. The building was a Grade II listed building which had tight planning regulations.
2. The system needed to take into account disability needs for setting/programming the alarm.
3. The work had to be carried out primarily out of working hours so that the work of Cotswold Consultancy was not affected by installation noise.
4. Installing a system suited to the rural location

The above factors, amongst others, were all planned in advance so that the correct solution was installed first time with the minimum of disruption to Cotswold Consultancy.
